Guide to the 1v1 Knight Empty Guide to the 1v1 Knight

Post by Astre Wed Jun 01, 2011 8:53 am

Well, since lots of people seem to ask me how to build up their Knight, I've decided to make a guide.
First things first, please note that this guide is for ENDGAME Knights.
Meaning, Knights that have reached the maximum level of 155.

Intro:
So why a 1v1 Knight?
Well, at level 155, pretty much you're going to be farming Kheldor or Ankou.
Most likely Ankou, though.
And in iFlyFF, nobody can tank Ankou.
Unless you're Full STA with donor items, you won't be able to tank Ankou.
If I recall correctly, you need at least 600k HP to be able to tank Ankou.
It makes more sense to be a DPS (damage per second) character to chip away at Ankou's HP.

Stats:
STR: XX
STA: 15
DEX: 130
INT: 15

How to Read: These are your base stats, not your total stats.
Total stats are the "blue" stat values.
Meaning, the number after bonuses and buffs.
The base stats are the "black" stat values.
The number without bonuses and buffs, hence base stats.

Easy enough. The DEX is for the Crit Rate/Block Rate and the STR is for the Attack.
STA and INT are useless for the 1v1 Knight. Remember, 1v1 Knights are a DPS character.
So, basically, you'll be building it like a Blade.

If you're restatting from an AoE Knight: After restatting, add 130 points to DEX and the rest into STR.

Please note: Total stats may vary with your awakes and such.
As for me, with buffs, my total DEX is 173 while my total STR is 771.

Equipment:
If this is your first character, it may be very hard to get the proper equipment to dish out lots of damage.

Weapon: Curtana
If you do not have a Curtana: A Vorpal Blade has similar bonuses.

Upgrades: +10, of course; 10/10 piercings with Fire (A) cards; awakening with +20% ADoCH or more, and for those that do not know, ADoCH stands for Additional Damage of Critical Hits; Ultimate Socket Diamonds STR +75; +20 Earth element.
Optional: You can use a Scroll of Strength on your Curtana as well. These scrolls can be bought from (Jewel Manager) Peach.
You may keep using it until you feel comfortable with the added bonus. My Curtana has +3 STR.

Shield: Heaven's Gate
If you do not have a Heaven's Gate: A Doom Guard has similar bonuses. However, Doom Guards are hard to come by.
Prior to owning a Doom Guard, I used a Catepo Shield that was fully upgraded/pierced with +20% ADoCH awakening.

Upgrades: +10; 10/10 piercings with Fire (A) cards; awakening with +20% ADoCH or more.
Optional: You can use a Scroll of Strength on your Heaven's Gate until you are comfortable with the added bonus. My HG has +3 STR.

Armor: Bileire/Bilari Set (Level 125 Knight set)
You might ask, "Why not use the Ectro/Extro set for the +30% ADoCH?"
Well, I thought that as well. However, I believe the +25% Attack is a lot more useful.
Now, it should be pretty easy to get your 125 set. If you do not have one, ask around in the guild.
I, myself, have 3 of each part of the Knight set except for boots. I do not own any boots.
However, once Kheldor drops are fixed, I will be more than happy to run Kheldor with you/for you.

Upgrades: +10 on all parts; 5/5 piercings on suit with Lightning (7%) cards for a total of +35% attack.
Awakenings:
Helm: +30 STR or more
Suit: +20% ADoCH or more
Gaunts: I've never known what to put on gaunts as the awakenings available for Gauntlets are a bit.... useless... But, to make up for my lower DEX, I put +10% Critical Chance on my Knight's gauntlets. An ideal awakening would be +10% CC and +140 attack or more.
But, that's 3 awakenings on the gaunts. (+10% CC, +140 Attack, +xx Attack) Very difficult to get. So, good luck.
Boots: +20% ADoCH or more

Jewelry: Champion's Set
Upgrades:I recommend you get the 2 Rings to +15 or more, the earrings to +10 or more, and the necklace to +10 or more.
Ideally, you should have the entire set +20.

Cloak: Cloak of Melee
If you do not have a Cloak of Melee: A Cloak of Dog will work as well.
Blessing: +6% or +9% ADoCH

Cash Shop Set: Anything you like! I'm assuming you have enough money at this point to afford a full CS Set.
Blessings: +6% or +9% ADoCH on all parts.

Stat Pet: Perfect Tiger (1/3/5/7/9)
Awakening: +20% ADoCH or more.

Buff Pet: Anything you like!
Blessing: +6% or +9% ADoCH
Beads: Bead of Fortitude, Bead of the Winds, Precious Bead of the Winds, Sacred Bead of Shade's Torment, Precious Bead of Fortitude, Sacred Bead of Iblis, Precious Bead of Profuse Bleeding, Precious Bead of Malice, Precious Bead of the Reckless.
Note on Beads: Precious Bead of the Reckless, which gives +10% Critical Chance, is optional. However, I had a left over slot so I added that over the +5/+10 STR bead.
Also, the Sacred Bead of Shade's Torment gives +25% EXP AND +1 Lucky Box. It'll help when you farm Ankou.

Skills:
I am assuming that all your skills are MAXED.
Anyways, you obviously won't be able to use your Knight skills when equipping a 1H Sword.
The important skills to use are as follows:
Empower Weapon (Increases Attack when using an Elemented weapon)
Blazing Sword (Increases Accuracy and Attack when using a Sword)
Sword Mastery (Increases Attack when using a Sword)

Boosters:
(edited by Gilgamesj)

IMPORTANT:
Concoction of Profuse Bleeding (+20% ADDOCH)
Upcuts (+20% Attack)

DONT USE IF YOU DONT NEED THEM:
Potion of Swiftness (15% Attack Speed, you have allready 100% if it is good xD )
Potion of Recklessness (10% Crit, only if you don't have 100% Crit Change)

ONLY IF YOU WANT TO NOT NECESSARY:
Elixer of of Anti-Magic (+100 Magical Defence, only use if you have +20 element on suit)
Elixer of the Sorceror (+100 Magical Attack, only use if you have +20 element on wep)
Elixir of Evasion (+15% Parry)
Elixer of the Tiger (+10 STR, 10 STR give not that much more attack power)
Fask of a Lion (+10 STA, 10 STA give not that much HP)
Flask of the Rabbit (+10 DEX, 10 DEX give not that much more crit of block rate)

Outro/Credits:
This guide is EXCLUSIVELY for iFlyFF.
iFlyFF has modified the bonuses on several, if not all, equipment.
Therefore, this guide, specifically the equipment section, is based upon iFlyFF's modifications.
This guide has been created by Astre. Or Glaive in-game.
I believe I haven't missed anything. If I have, please let me know and I will update it accordingly.
Or, if you have any suggestions, please post here or let me know in-game!
Thank you for reading and good luck on your Knight!

Nice one Astre.
I'm on my way. Atm my CS set is better than yours (mwhahah)
But your awakes are more pro than mine haha Razz

1 Question. The STR scrolls (There stands: Add a random STR stat to your weapon or armor. The stat benefit received is random between +1 and +4. Please note that this replaces any existing stat on the weapon.) So I thought it remove also your addoch stats what Curtana give, but thats wrong?

Maybe some part for boosters.
Like (Got from flyff wiki so don't know if all powers are in iFlyff):
Elixer of the Tiger (STR)
Concoction of Profuse Bleeding (10% ADDOCH)
Potion of Swiftness (attack speed)
Elixir of the Sorcerer (For Magic attack, good if you element your +20 earth)
Flask of the Tiger (STR)
Upcuts

Those are not necessary, but you can use them a bit for you blockrate.
Elixer of the Rabbit (DEX)
Potion of Recklessness (More Crit)
Elixir of Evasion (Parry)
Flask of the Rabbit (DEX)

Don't use DEF or HP boosters, like Astre said, nobody can tank ankou so with his bite you are 1 hit KO xD

Yeah, the STR scroll won't affect your Awakenings.
And the boosters are a good idea.
I'll add that in.
