Guide for using a forum?

Ok... i was thinking... cos im a total noob... that it would be a good idea that for those of us who dont know how to use a forum, that someone sets up a section of threads for how to do things on the forum i.e. inserting images. Because i have no idea how to do that... sometimes it works copying and pasting, other times it doesnt... i also dont know what BBCode is or stuff like that :S just some general forum help would be appreciated. thanks
